Firearm Manufacturing Skips New England, Builds Jobs in Right to Work States Instead

Bob Sanders reports for the New Hampshire Business Review that: 

"Sturm Ruger & Co., expanding for the first time in a quarter-century, has announced that it will open a new facility in North Carolina."

Ruger has existing facilities in Newport, and Granite Staters were hopeful that New Hampshire would be picked for the new job creation.

Of course, this isn't the only time New Hampshire has missed out on good-paying jobs because of its forced-unionism status. In fact, it isn't even the only time that firearms manufacturers fleeing Connecticut have considered, but passed over, New Hampshire.

In the same article, Sanders reports:

"...the Granite State was in the running when PTR Industries, a manufacturer of semiautomatic rifles, said it was leaving Connecticut in protest of that state’s new tough gun control laws.

PTR, however, announced on June 24 that it would relocate its manufacturing operations and corporate headquarters to Myrtle Beach, S.C. The $8 million project would create about 145 jobs, according to news reports."

What do Ruger's North Carolina, and PTR's South Carolina, have in common -- other than new corporate investment creating new, good-paying jobs?

Both are Right to Work states.

Granite State policy-makers should take note, and signal that New Hampshire is 'Open for Business' by passing Right to Work.
